Cheryl Beer is an internationally acclaimed Environmental Sound Artist from Wales, UK. By repurposing hearing aid technology, she composes music from the spectral diagrams and visual cues within fragile ecologies. Her rainforest symphony, Cân y Coed / Song of the Trees, toured the globe, representing the UK in Qatar’s Garden of Great, finishing December 2023 with an exhibition residency in London at the Houses of Parliament.
Cheryl is currently Research Artist in Residence at the National Botanic Garden of Wales as a Future Wales Fellow with the Arts Council of Wales. Her creative enquiry explores emotional connectivity with nature and the potential for her creative practice to shape a more nurturing narrative for social change regarding climate crisis.
